This tour connects the main archaeological and cultural treasures of the Sacred Valley in a single day. From the craft market of Pisaq to the impressive Inca agricultural terraces, each stop reveals a different chapter of the history and engineering of this civilization.
Ollantaytambo, one of the highlights of the route, preserves its cobblestone streets and ceremonial fortress intact, considered one of the most important religious and political centers of the Inca empire. The tour ends in Chinchero, where Andean textile tradition remains alive through its local communities.
ITINERARY:
- Hotel pickup: Transportation for the start of the tour will pick you up between 7:30am and 8:00am from your hotel in downtown Cusco.
- Taray Viewpoint: Leaving Cusco, we enter the Sacred Valley of the Incas through the Taray Viewpoint, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the valley and the Vilcanota River.
- Pisaq: We arrive at Pisaq, an Andean town known for its craft market, where you can find textiles, ceramics and traditional jewelry.
- Pisaq Archaeological Park: Next, we head to the Pisaq Archaeological Park, full of terraces and aqueducts built by the Incas for high-altitude farming.
- Buffet lunch in Urubamba: We continue through the valley to Urubamba, where we will stop to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch with typical dishes from the region.
- Ollantaytambo: We arrive at Ollantaytambo, considered a religious and political center of the Inca empire, where the temples, fortresses and Inca town remain intact to this day.
- Chinchero archaeological site: Finally we visit the Chinchero archaeological site, where we will learn about the history of this important place and its relevance within Andean culture.
- Return to Cusco: Drop-off will be near the main square (approx. 6:00pm).
