Humantay Lake is a glacial lake with turquoise waters located at 4,200 m.a.s.l., considered sacred by Andean communities. Surrounded by the Salkantay snow-capped mountain, this destination offers otherworldly landscapes and a deep connection with nature and Andean cosmovision.
This full-day trek will take you along Andean trails to one of the most beautiful and spiritual lakes in Cusco. Its turquoise waters, fed directly by the melting snow of Salkantay, contrast with the rugged, rocky landscape of the mountain range.
For local communities, Humantay is an Apu (sacred mountain) honored through traditional offerings as part of Andean cosmovision.
