7 Lagunas de Ausangate is one of the most spectacular trekking routes in the Andes. At the foot of Ausangate mountain (6,384 m.a.s.l.), the most sacred Apu of Cusco, you will discover seven lakes of unique colors —turquoise, emerald and deep blue— surrounded by glaciers, vicuñas and breathtaking landscapes.
A route that will take you to one of the most remote and magical corners of the Cusco region, where Andean nature shows itself in all its magnitude. You will walk through wetlands, grazing areas and high mountain landscapes that very few travelers ever have the privilege of seeing, accompanied at all times by the imposing presence of Ausangate mountain, sacred guardian of these lands.
Each of the 7 lakes has its own color, its own energy and its own story — from the bright turquoise of Ausangate Cocha to the deep blue of Otorongo Cocha, every stop is a living postcard that will leave you speechless and with a heart full of gratitude for the incomparable beauty of the Peruvian Andes.
A high mountain trek that challenges your physical limits but rewards you with views that very few people in the world have ever had the privilege of witnessing. The altitude, the silence and the majesty of the landscape create an almost spiritual experience, where you feel small before the greatness of Andean nature and at the same time completely free.
It does not matter if you are an experienced trekker or if this is your first mountain adventure — the 7 Lagunas de Ausangate will welcome you with all their magic, their impossible colors and that unique energy that only the Andes of Cusco can give you. An experience that changes perspectives, fills the soul and stays engraved in memory forever.
