ITINERARY
Hotel Pickup and Transport to the Port: We begin early in the morning by picking up passengers from their hotels in Puno to travel directly toward the main port of Lake Titicaca.
Navigation and Guided Tour of the Uros Floating Islands: At the port, we will board our tourist boat to begin navigating the highest navigable lake in the world. Our first stop will be the unique floating islands of Uros. Here, we will meet the native inhabitants, historically known as the "water tribes," who will teach us how they build and maintain their own floating platforms made entirely from totora reed roots and stems, accompanied by their traditional reed watercrafts.
Boat Ride to Taquile Island: We continue our boat journey, sailing further into the lake toward Taquile Island, a peaceful destination famous for its magnificent natural landscapes and perfectly preserved ancestral customs.
Cultural Highlights and Mulsina Pata Viewpoint: Upon landing on Taquile, we will take an uphill walk toward the village. Along the way, we will visit the Mulsina Pata viewpoint, the highest spot on the island, offering spectacular panoramic views of Lake Titicaca. We will also discover the renowned textile crafts of the locals, a millenary art of superb technical quality knitted exclusively by the men of the community.
Traditional Island Lunch: We will stop to enjoy a comforting traditional lunch prepared by the islanders using fresh local ingredients, providing a perfect opportunity to taste local gastronomy and share a moment with the community.
Return Boat Ride to Puno City: After lunch, we will walk down to the pier to board our tourist boat for the return trip across the lake. The experience finishes in the afternoon with our arrival at the port and subsequent transfer back to downtown Puno.
